A few months ago, my daughter bought a U.B.Funkey. At the time, I tried to get it to run under wine, but finally gave up. Today, my son got another Funkey for his birthday, so i decided to try it again. This time, I decided to make a brute force attempt. As most of you know U.B. Funkeys were discontinued a very long time ago and many people forgot about them, Well my friends and I have made a small beta version of it ourselves its not very good yet though.:0 (HUB will not work).

I was able to install the Funkeys software on on the virtual machine. After downloading the USB Driver Patch from the Funkey website, and installing it; I was able to start up the Funkeys software and have it recognize the Funkeys.

My daughter then spent about 30 minutes playing with them before being reminded that it was well past her bedtime. Running xubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.1.20 (newest available today) and the funkeys program disk will auto run but gets part way through, throws an error message, and ends. I tried downloading the driver from funkeys' site and it tells me that the program is not installed and it won't load the driver.

I tried on an old win98 machine and it won't run there either (min specs per funkeys is win2000 or newer so I didn't expect much). Is the only option left to buy a $150 Operating System to play an $8 toy? So here I sit with a sad little boy that wants to play.

While I am sure this is not an exciting game for most of you my kids really like to play it. The problem is that UB Funkeys doesn't have a very good support site and I cannot get it to run on my new computer. We have had the computer for about 2 weeks now and I am just getting around to installing it. Unfortunately this process has taken me most of the day and it is still not running.

I install the program, but everytime I try to run it I get a message that says, 'You must install Adobe FlashPlayer 9.0 or higher to run this program.' The problem is that I have Adobe Flash Player 10. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Funkeys.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Adobe Flash Player. I found a Website saying that my FlashPlayer might be corrupted, but it's recommendations were to uninstall/reinstall, which I have done twice. Another website said that I might need to give Funkeys permission to run flash player, but I don't know how to do that. If anyone has any suggestions that may help it will make my kids a little less annoyed with me.
