The field you want to modify is not valid for this type of item.' This happens in any Outlook client we try,(2003 and 2007). Even opening the users mailbox from another users inbox and trying to view the task request gives the error. We have tried setting Outlook as the default editor as opposed to Word. We have tried moving the users mailbox to another server and the error still appears.

But if the users experiencing the issue assign a task to someone else they do not have the problem. If anyone has found a solution to this problem, please let me know as I am getting pretty desperate to solve this issue.

I just noticed this last Monday. I make monthly pst files and move the Journaled emails into them. So Monday I tried to create a new one and got the error 0x80070003.

(File, Account Settings, Data Files, Add. 'An unknown error occurred, error 0x80070003.) Then I noticed that if I click on File, Open & Import, Open Outlook Data File, I get the error 'Path does not exist. Verify the path is correct.' Apparently the 0x error is a pretty common one throughout MS products for an invalid path. I also saw many, many search hits saying it's related to redirecting My Documents, which I have never done. The closest to any other solutions was some registry editing and folder renaming: I have since uninstalled/reinstalled Office, performed the steps in the article above multiple times, manually removed the Profiles from the registry, dozens of Control Panel profile recreations. I'm now trying to disentangle my Office 2103 from O365 as much as possible.

The pst file I had connected was working fine - while it was connected. It's just now I can't add or open one. And I've since disconnected the other one. I just need to figure out what Outlook is initially trying to open. Even if it was a path in the MRU list that was gone I'd expect Outlook to open the Explorer folder dialog box.
